Acts One and Two
For most of us, the first two stages of life are characterized by very clear expectations, goals, and a sense of purpose. The first 25-30 years we are busy maturing from a child into a young adult, getting educated, figuring out what we want to do for work, maybe launching a career. The second stage is usually defined by building relationships, often marrying and raising children, developing our careers and finding a place in the community.
The Third Act
Then comes this third stage, when the kids are off on their own or needing you way less, your job has lost its allure, and the stereotypes of retirement leave you scratching your head about what’s next. This is the time when many women spend more time alone, struggle with a lack of purpose or vision, and can feel confused and disoriented. Rather than the satisfaction and enjoyment you had hoped for right around now, you’re experiencing a sense of slow unraveling…
Why We're Different

While that’s all great, we feel the best way to improve your life is to surround yourself with a community of friends, learn from each other’s stories, and focus on the good that’s all around us and the possibilities that still lie ahead. The world’s bad news rolls out nonstop 24-7, and all of us will continue to face our own personal challenges ahead. We just know that tanking up with good fuel gets us much further along whatever journey we are on.

Instead of trying to impose a system or methodology, Good News Girls offers a delicious smorgasbord of resources and inspiration, as well as a growing network of friends to do life with. We guarantee you won’t be able to be part of this community without some goodness, joy, and sense of purpose rubbing off on you and making your life better.
Why We Give Back
We love the model of an “Empowered Worldview” that some nonprofits have adopted. This approach recognizes that, in addition to providing essential skills and resources, it’s important to shift the mindset of individuals from one of limitation and poverty to one of vision and belief. For women, this new perspective creates confidence that a better future can be theirs and that their empowerment is founded on the strength of working together as a community. And it gets inspiring results!
In some ways, this beautiful model is similar to what we have established in The Good News Girls. It’s that magic formula of a believing mind, a willingness to learn new skills and embrace new resources, and the right community to support our growth.
Each month we will be donating 5% of all membership fees toward nonprofits that utilize this approach to empower women and girls and help them secure a better future. Through our combined generosity, over time we will be able to make a significant difference in the lives of many women and girls around the world!
